Production Shift Team Leader urgently needed. This role will be to plan and direct all aspects of the machine shop and sub-assembly areas for the product line to obtain optimum efficiency and maximise profits and initiate change.
Responsibilities:
•Will assume responsibility for the Machine shop and sub assembly areas quality and quantity of production, as well as managing manpower requirements and establishing priorities for production based on new product introduction, equipment efficiency, throughput and material supply.
•Will assume responsibility for manufacturing engineering, manufacturing instructions, equipment selection MRB planning, tool design and CNC programming.
•Will be expected to lead the continued development of continuous flow manufacturing lines and the supporting systems.
•Will manage develop and measure Subordinate staff performance.
Working on a shift pattern of: 6.00-2.00, 2.00-10.00 and nights + paid overtime and shift premium.
Position Requirements:
•Experience must include 5+ years of manufacturing management preferably in an aerospace/defence manufacturing environment.
•Should have experience with operation of and programming of CNC mills, CNC lathes and other CNC Equipment.
•Should have experience with conventional machinery and EDM equipment.
•Must have a thorough working knowledge of principles used in, machining, Mechanical assembly, metal finishing and inspection.
•Should have experience with honing, grinding, heat treating and plating processes.
•Practical experience in an MRP/ERP environment for managing schedules a must.
•Must be experienced in designing and implementing continuous flow lines, line balancing, and related production optimisation techniques.
•Must have proven managerial track record and sound organisational, communication and leadership skills.
•Must possess strong leadership skills.
•Background in continuous improvement and SPC
