Job: Software Engineer, Liverpool Recruitment Company

Software Engineer required for a worldwide leading supplier of equipment and services to packaging manufacturers in the folding carton, corrugated board and flexible material industries. Key functions will include:

Essential Skills

• HNC level qualified engineer in Electronic / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

• Computer literate in Microsoft applications.

• Experience in working with PLC programming and AC and DC drive systems.

• Siemens S7 300 and 400 series PLCs at development level.

• Must be fully conversant with WinCC SCADA package.

• Good communication skills at all levels, verbal and written.

• Willing to work as full, supportive team member.

• Ability to contribute ideas/innovation to continued improvement of machine design.

• Ability to assess, decision make & address situations.

• Must be self-motivated with a desire to achieve high standards.

Desirable Skills

• Process /Vacuum system experience.

• Experience of pneumatic, hydraulic, machine controls, & other mechanical systems.

• Knowledge of the C programming language as applied to WinCC.

• Knowledge of other PLC and SCADA packages

• Must be able to work un-supervised, be self-motivated.

• Ability to explain instructions & procedures to vendors & customers

• A strong sense of problem /solution ownership.

• Must be able to meet target completion of tasks, & make decisions affecting relating to targets.

• Availability and unhindered capability for worldwide travel.

Excellent package up to £28k pa, plus service payments for working away from home. 33 days holiday (inc statutory), sickness payment, life assurance and pension scheme after qualifying periods
