Job: Fleet Underwriter, Independent Appointments

Synopsis

Experienced Fleet Underwriter required by this Manchester based international insurance company to take responsibility for pricing, negotiation, risk management and applications.

Job Profile

Senior Fleet Underwriter with responsibility for pricing, negotiation of pricing and acceptance of terms to secure the business and risk management including selection of risks requiring Risk Management interpretation of reports, application of terms & requirements. This will include and ultimate the withdrawal of cover. Duties will include handling applications (of appropriate cover restrictions, warranties, clauses & policy terms & Conditions) and undertaking general underwriting activities, dealing with brokers queries & correspondence. Also enhancing & developing broker relationships to maximise opportunities and dealing with technical referrals, linking in with Head Office Underwriting.

Applicant Requirements

Prospective candidates are required to have suitable motor fleet experience coupled with strong underwriting skills and a good market awareness. You will be self-motivated and able to work under pressure during peak periods. Excellent interpersonal / communication skills and strong negotiation and organisational skills are essential. Preferably candidates will be ACII qualified or working towards this.
