Job: Senior Commercial Underwriter, Independent Appointments

Synopsis

Major insurance company looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Underwriter (ACII qualified/progression) to underwrite commercial risks within their Manchester office.

Job Profile

Senior Commercial Underwriter required to underwrite commercial risks from a designated panel of intermediaries within agreed authority levels and to provide a reference point and training for technical underwriting and product knowledge within the branch. Key accountabilities include underwriting larger and more complex cases for new and existing business, maintaining/developing business relationships with intermediaries, actively encouraging the generation of profitable new business and respond to customer enquiries.

Applicant Requirements

Knowledge and understanding of the market, progress towards ACII/qualified ACII and A-Level or equivalent education are essential. Candidates must possess interpersonal/communication/sales/negotiation skills, technical product knowledge and PC/mainframe systems/keyboard skills. Team focus, effective time management skills, mentoring/coaching skills, training skills and networking & relationship building skills are also required.
