Synopsis

2 experienced Commercial Underwriters sought by well established UK general insurer to be based in Manchester.

Job Profile

Well established UK general insurer requires 2 Commercial Underwriters to join their Manchester office. Duties will include underwriting new and existing Commercial Combined business, developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with intermediaries and providing support and acting as a point of referral. The role will involve assisting the Commercial Underwriting Manager with the development and maintenance of Technical Underwriting Standards, Controls, Procedures and Authority Limits. Additionally, you will be required to provide advice and support to the Claims Department. Principle Limits will be £5 million for Property and Public Liability and £10 million for Employers Liability.

Applicant Requirements

Strong commercial underwriting experience, encompassing Property, Liability and miscellaneous classes is required. Candidates will have excellent communication and problem solving skills and be proactive, innovative and able to take the initiative. Some progress towards ACII would be advantageous and PC skills are essential.
