Synopsis

An experienced Senior Underwriter is sought by the Manchester office of this leading insurance company. The role requires significant underwriting experience in a Commercial Underwriting environment, specialising in Property and Casualty business.

Job Profile

An exciting opportunity has arisen within this well established and successful company for a Senior Underwriter. The role will be front line facing and will primarily focus on developing broker accounts in the Liverpool and Preston areas, as well as handling internal Property and Casualty work. The successful candidate will be responsible for specialist underwriting of large corporate risks and developing broker and customer relationships. The role will also involve acting as a source of underwriting knowledge, contributing towards the effective training of junior underwriters and acting as a referral point within the team.

Applicant Requirements

Candidates will have significant underwriting experience in a Commercial Underwriting environment specialising in Property and Casualty business and a strong regional knowledge of this market. As the role will involve visiting broker offices and having exposure to some major clients, good communication and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite. ACII/progression towards would be advantageous. This is an excellent role for someone looking for the opportunity to work autonomously, with the flexibility to develop this regional account in the way they see fit.
