Job: Senior Liability Underwriter, Independent Appointments

Synopsis

Leading provider of insurance products seeks a Senior Liability Underwriter to work from their Manchester office.

Job Profile

A Senior Liability Underwriter is required to take responsibility for development of new business and the account management of an existing book of business. As a key Development Underwriter you will be responsible for underwriting Liability risks from a designated panel of intermediaries within agreed authority levels to achieve profitable growth in line with Company and branch objectives. You will conduct broker visits and look for opportunities to develop the existing account and profitability with key brokers and also develop potential new business opportunities. Additionally you will undertake renewal reviews, apply terms as necessary and instruct surveyors on larger and more complex risks.

Applicant Requirements

A strong technical underwriting background is required with a bias towards large and complex liability risks, an ACII qualification or progress towards is preferred, although quality and ambitious candidates with less experience will be considered. You should have the ability to negotiate at a senior level and strong managerial and motivational skills gained in a senior role in an underwriting department.
