Job: Commercial Underwriter, Independent Appointments

Synopsis

A high level specialist underwriting company looking for 3 experienced Commercial Underwriters, preferably ACII qualified or working towards, for their Manchester office.

Job Profile

Commercial Underwriter required to make day-to-day decisions regarding the acceptance and rating of commercial insurance risks, service existing business and maintain and develop broker relationships to encourage business support. Key responsibilities include negotiating and underwriting new business quotations, MTAs and renewals, working closely with colleagues supporting business unit objectives, ensuring all business is handled/processed compliantly and carrying out broker visits.

Applicant Requirements

Candidates must have commercial underwriting experience, negotiations and relationship building skills and a good working knowledge of the local market. Proven experience of being accountable for profitable underwriting performance, good communication skills and good problem solving and decision skills are also required. Candidates will also preferably be ACII qualified or working towards.
