Job: Commercial Underwriter, Independent Appointments

Synopsis

Major insurer looking for a Commercial Underwriter (part qualified ACII) ideally with experience of working within a commercial insurance environment, for their Bolton office.

Job Profile

Commercial Underwriter sought to provided administration support to the team and underwrite new/existing business in line with established practice. Responsibilities will include establishing and developing business relationships with intermediaries, producing timely and accurate documentation and actively encouraging the generation of new business. The role will also involved promoting the business through a polite, helpful and willing attitude to all customers (both external and internal) and responding to customers requests for information.

Applicant Requirements

Candidates must show progression towards the ACII qualification and be educated to A level or equivalent. Previous experience of working within a commercial insurance environment and an awareness of service standards is desirable. Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, technical product knowledge and good sales and negotiation skills are required. Also looking for PC/mainframe systems/keyboard skills, team focus and effective time management
