Bolton office of this major insurance looking for an experienced Commercial Underwriter to underwrite new and existing business from a designated panel of intermediaries.

Job Profile

Commercial Underwriter sought to underwrite new and existing commercial risks from a designated panel of intermediaries within an agreed authority level, to achieve profitable growth in line with company and branch objectives. Role will involve maintaining and developing business relationships with intermediaries, produce accurate documentation, actively encourage generation of profitable new business, respond to customer requests for information, promote the business and assist/coach colleagues with technical and procedural aspects of underwriting

Applicant Requirements

Candidates must have previous experience of working within a commercial insurance environment and commercial underwriting, an awareness of market knowledge and trading issues and an awareness of service standards and business processes for the role. Progression towards ACII, A level or equivalent education, excellent interpersonal/communication/sales/negotiation skills, effective time management and technical product knowledge are also required.
