One of the largest law firms based in Manchester is seeking a heavyweight Respondent Employment Solicitor.

Job Profile

One of the largest law firms with a client base including NHS Trusts, Strategic Health Authorities and education sector clients is seeking a highly experienced Respondent Employment Solicitor to join their Manchester firm. Their focus is on contentious and non contentious respondent employment advice, ranging from strategic advice to handling Employment Tribunal claims. You will be taking a leading role in the development of a health employment practice and will be undertake a varied workload of employment matters in the health and public sector. You will initiate and take part in marketing / networking activities in order to maintain and develop work from existing and potential clients in the health and public sector, and within this role you will also maintain and develop technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions, reading appropriate publications and exceeding Law Society CPD requirements.

Applicant Requirements

We envisage that the successful candidate will possess at least 5 year’s post qualified experience (PQE); however we will accept applications from candidates of all levels of experience, who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills for the role. Ideally you will have experience of working with clients in the health and public sectors, preferably in the North West and Midlands areas. You must have experience of tribunal work and be able to work independently on contentious and non contentious matters reporting to a partner or an associate as appropriate. You will be required to be an independent thinker with a focus on generating solutions to problems on behalf of clients, as well as a confident communicator with an ability to develop relationships, undertake client marketing and influence at all levels, by being an enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach.
